The LEGO® Icons 10362 French Café is a delightful addition to LEGO’s Restaurants of the World subtheme, bringing a taste of Parisian charm into a compact, shelf-friendly display. With 1,1011 pieces and a friendly price of $79.99, this set balances architectural sophistication and an engaging build experience. Hoang Dang - Model Designer and his Design Team did a great job for this LEGO set. I love so much about the style and details of the building.
1. Design and Build
The French Café embodies the essence of Belle Époque architecture, featuring elegant curves, detailed masonry, and intricate signage. LEGO’s designers have seamlessly integrated:
Parisian Facade: The use of sand green, nougat, and dark red bricks evokes the warm yet vibrant aesthetic of a classic corner café.
Architectural Flourishes: Ornate balconies, ironwork, and a mansard roof add a touch of Haussmannian elegance, elevating the model beyond simple modularity.
Interior Details: Though small, the interior isn’t neglected—there's a café counter, seating, and kitchen elements that add realism.
One small critique: While the exterior shines, the interior could have benefited from a few more minifigure-scale accessories to enhance storytelling.

Verdict: 9/10 – Exceptional façade design with just a bit of room for more interior detailing.
2. Display Value
This set is purpose-built for display, with:
Shelf-Friendly Footprint: its scale fits neatly on desks, bookshelves, or alongside other modular builds.
Cinematic Composition: The asymmetrical corner layout makes it visually dynamic from multiple angles.
Lighting Potential: The large windows and open-air seating area would pair beautifully with LEGO’s light kits.
It stands strong as a self-contained diorama, though it isn’t part of the Modular Buildings series—meaning no side connectors for expansion.

Verdict: 8.5/10 – Fantastic standalone piece, but lacks true modular compatibility.
3. Build Experience
LEGO Icons sets are tailored for adults, and 10362 French Café delivers a rewarding building process:
Techniques: The clever brickwork layering, window assembly, and angled roof elements provide fresh and engaging techniques.
Flow: The build unfolds logically and satisfyingly, progressing from the café’s foundation to its signature Parisian roofline.
Accessibility: Unlike larger modulars, this set doesn’t demand a heavy time investment—making it perfect for a relaxed weekend project.
No major complaints here—just pure architectural enjoyment.

4. Value and Pricing
With 1,101 pieces at $79.99, the price-per-piece ratio is about $0.07 per piece—a fantastic value in today’s LEGO market.
Comparison to Modular Buildings: While smaller than full-sized modulars, it offers a similar design ethos at half the price.
Compared to Diorama Sets: It provides a more interactive build than many Star Wars or Harry Potter dioramas at a comparable price.
Exclusive Elements: Some unique printed tiles and rare color selections add extra value for MOC (My Own Creation) builders.
